7 Study Tips Just for You!!

This week has been absolutely insane. I feel sooo overwhelmed it's simply ridiculous. It's always an adjustment going back to school, so hopefully I will be able to manage my time better in the near future. I MUST have time to blog. It can't be overlooked. So, do not fear! I will keep posting, even if my last post was 6 days ago..

Since my life has been completely consumed by school, I decided to do a post about, you guessed it, STUDYING! I'm sure that you have no desire to continue to read this after that word, but it won't be as bad as you think it'll be. I have to adjust to studying and homework, so why not to kick start your adjustment too? Here we gooo!

1. Write It Down. Schedule your study time in a planner of some sort. This is your game plan. Seeing it on paper just helps you not be so scatter brained the night before everything is due. Also, stick to your game plan! There's no use in making one if you don't take it seriously and do your studying. (:

2. Get the Right Tools. Before you start on your work, make sure you have everything you need close by. Things like a laptop, books, calculators, pencils, and notes are really nice to have out and ready to go for easy access. In the end, this will save you some time.

3. Break it Down. Take long-range assignments and break them down into smaller, manageable 'chunks'. This will make your homework seem less overwhelming. Stay organized to be sure you get each chunk finished in time!

4. Prioritize. This helps me so much. Put your assignments in order; try doing the toughest assignment first and the easiest ones last. Once you finish the more difficult assignment you will feel so relieved! If you do the harder one last you aren't going to want to keep going cause it keeps haunting your mind. AH. Try it, I think it helps!

5. Ask Questions. Before you start an assignment, make sure you understand exactly what you need to do. Ask all important questions before you start! If you don't understand you will become very frustrated trying to do it on your own. It's definitely happened to me before! Don't be afraid to ask your teachers either, it helps.

6. Do One Thing at a Time. Focus on one assignment only! Jumping from one subject to another can be confusing and distracting. It'll keep you a lot more organized too.

7. TAKE BREAKS! Don't burn yourself out by waiting last minute to study. Add a few breaks into your study time. Food, sleep and exercise are always good.. (: You deserve breaks, so take them!

Hope these help you get back in the groove! Have a lovely week at school or work or.. wherever you are.

A Trip to the Windy City!

On our way back from Michigan we hit Chicago! My uncle lives there so we got to see him, and get a littl e mini-vacation. It's so pretty there. The buildings are simply insane! Coming from Oklahoma, it's a huge jaw dropper to see these giant buildings. Here's some pictures of all the skyscrapers!

The Air and Water Show was going on while we were there! It was so cool, the planes were huge and SO LOUD. We went to the Navy Pier and it had a perfect view of all the planes flying by!

That was just too cool. While we were there, I got this ginormous sno cone! It was soo yummy! (:

Anyways, we had a lot of fun! School starts tomorrow, so I'll be sure to tell you all about that. (: Have a great week!

Central Michigan University!

Boy, it's been quite a week! Rachel is officially moved in at CMU. It took a lot of planning and a lot of moving but we did it! I'm so sorry for the 'belatedness' of this post but it has been insane these past few days. My mom's been moving, I've been shopping and getting stuff ready for school, so between the two of us we've been quite the hooligans. Okay, back to Rachel's room. Rachel's going to CMU with her long time friend Preslee, who also got a full ride gymnastics scholarship. They were gymnasts together when they were little, and they always dreamed of rooming together! It's crazy how things worked out. Since they knew who they were rooming with and they lived close by, it was super easy to coordinate everything. (and I mean everything.. from towels to make-up bags) They share a 'suite' with 2 other girls. There's two rooms that are seperated by a living room. (I'm sure those girls are scarred for life by the matchiness of Pres and Rachel's room..) So here's the before picture!

Boring right? Well get ready for the opposite. Here's the after pictures!

It turned out great! Anyways, Rachel is happy where she is and so are we. Stay tuned for the Chicago blogpost!

Not Obsessions Tuesday.

Hey friends. It's been quite a week. School's about to start and I'm leaving to take Rachel to Michigan... TOMORROW. That's insane. After she's all settled in we'll head to Chicago to see my Uncle Robert, and I'm really excited about that. Anyways, today is Tuesday which usually means that I'll be sharing my obsessions. Honestly, I don't have any new obsessions. Really it's true. I'm gonna wait 'till next Tuesday so that I have some really good ones to share with you! Sorry to disappoint.

Instead, I'm gonna share a quote that has been getting me through the days. Something happened recently that kind of put a damper on things, but hey, that's life for ya. The tough stuff makes you that much stronger. Here it is.

"If you love something let it go. If it comes back it was always yours, if it doesn't it never was."

If you know me in person then you probably saw that as my Facebook status yesterday, so sorry for the repeat! This quote is a great encouragement to me, really it is. My sister shared it with me and I just kept repeating it in my head. Things happen, people change. Life isn't very nice sometimes, but that's what makes you who you are. There is a plan, I know there is. I can't see how it will play out right now but it'll end up alright. I have to pick myself up and move on because that's the kind of person I have to be. I know that you most likely don't want to read this but I figured it would be good for me to write it out. (: Moving on.

I'll be taking a HAYOOOGE amount of pictures throughout our little adventures up North. I can't wait for you to see them! Skyscrapers in Chicago are the best thing I could think of for photography. I'm super excited. Hopefully we get to go shopping! That'd be a great time.. Haha! But be sure to check out the Chicago post. I can't wait to share! Hope everyone has a wonderful week.

Back To School Checklist.. Already.

Guess what? It's August. No really, Just Trust Me, you can even check your calendar. August means school, and school means organization and checklisting. I'm the kind of person that is so flipping ready for the next time of the year. I'm always ready for school to be out, but I'm ready once we go back too. I guess you could say I don't really dislike any time of year! So, long story short I'm ready for the school year. I always eat my words when it's May, but like I said I'm always ready for the changes. I also like schedules! Summer is very laid back and not scheduled, which is exactly what I need at the end of every school year. It's simply fantastic, but there comes a point when I'm bored sitting at home and I just don't know what to do with myself. It's pathetic. This is why I'm ready for school. I know, I'm weird.

Okay, so every year there is a school checklist I usually go by. I love feeling perfectly ready for school! Once again, I'm weird. Want to know what my list consists of? Despite your answer, I'm going to tell you. So sorry.

Clothes.
Every year I have to get a few new things for a fresh start. Some years I have more than others, but I try to always get something. Maybe I'm crazy, but I avoid getting any article of summer clothing when it comes to Back To School shopping. I always get jeans, tennis shoes, and jackets for basics. Heck, I don't care if it's August and 99 degrees, I'm still gonna wear my new jeans! It's just the way I roll.

Organize.
Since I'm doing a whole lot of nothing in the Summer I always try to clean out my closet and room so it's ready for the year. Who wants to spend a precious weekend cleaning out your closet during the school year?! Certainly. Not. Me. Get it out of the way! You're not doing anything anyway. Clean out those drawers, closets and jewelry boxes. They're begging you to. (:

Backpack.
This process takes a lot of time to figure out. What process you ask? Figuring out how your backpack system will owrk. There are many things to consider when deciding on your backpack for the year. 1) Will it fit in the tiny thing they call a locker? Probably not. 2) Will your books fit in it nicely? 3) Will this backpack cause back pain or scoliosis in the future? If so, I'd recommend consulting with your local physician to prevent this type of problem from occurring. 4) Lastly, is it cute?? Do you see why I struggle with this decision?! Just so you know, number 3 is the most important so don't overlook it. Okay, moving right along. I usually choose a tote of some sort. I don't know why, I just like them better. This is a very crucial decision so think it through!

School Supplies.
This is probably my favorite part! What is so exciting about buying school supplies? Don't ask me, but I love it so much. I used to go really early to get everything, but in highschool they tell us what we need on the first day of school. We don't get the awesome list. I guess my advice for this would be to go for the happy medium between quality and affordability.

Well, that's all I got for ya today. I hope you enjoyed! This next school year will be full of surprises and adventures.

Obsessions Tuesday

Hi there everybody! It's Tuesday, and you know what that means. That's right, time to see what my obsessions are for the week! I've been super lazy all week. Seriously, I've done just about nothing. I finished a book and started a new one, which I'm really enjoying. Alright, enough babbles.

My first obsession is belts. I've gone shopping a lot since it was Tax-Free Weekend, and belts have really tickled my fancy. I think my favorite ones are brown leather ones that have some decoration to them. Here's one I love from this adorable boutique, 'Francesca's'.

Recently I've been really worried about the healthiness of my hair. I want to grow it out and it won't grow! It also has a lot of split ends, but I use heat protectant any time I straighten or curl my hair. Lynnlee's sister, Laney, is in beauty school and I asked her what I could do to help keep my hair healthy. She asked me what kind of shampoo and conditioner I used, to which I responded "The cheapest kind on the shelf.". She told me that that was the problem! She said that all of the shampoos and conditioners sold at supermarkets are really dilluted with water, and they have harmful Ph values that kill the Keratin in your hair. Scary, I know. She said she could get me a discount for the salon stuff, so I got this Paul Mitchell Tea Tree shampoo and conditioner. It's magical. Life Changing. I've never experienced this sensation. It's invigorating, so it feels all tingly-like when you're washing your hair! It's really expensive without Laney's discount, so I'm not sure if I'd suggest it.. But I love it!
Tea Tree Special Shampoo®
My last obsession is very much an obsession. For this year's school clothes I decided to get a lot of earrings so I could mix and match v-necks and have a whole bunch of different options for outfits. I always get my earrings on clearance. No lie, I don't even look at the full priced rack. You can get some great deals! American Eagle has great jewelry, along with Target, Dillards, and Claire's.

Well I hope you enjoyed this week's obsessions! If you don't already follow me then I'd simply love for you to. Have a wonderful day!

Don't Waste Your Money, Use Coupons!

Hey there! Here's the post about Coupons that I've been talking about! I find that they're a great tool for saving money that you should take advantage of. I thought it would be fun to share some of my tips and strategies with all of you lovelies. So here I go, I hope you find something useful in my rambles.

Set Up Your Coupon Binder
Seriously, if you don't have one of these then you won't be a successful couponer. They fullfill my longing for organization so well, it's great. I just bought a 1 inch binder and kind of decorated the front with a title page just cause I would so do something like that. You'll then need to buy some baseball card holder pages.. yeah, that's what we'll call them. They're clear pockets that are simply perfect for storing your coupons. I would suggest going to a craft store like Hobby Lobby to get them because I've found that WalMart doesn't carry them like.. ever. The last thing you need to complete your Coupon Binder is some dividers. I have 5 with the following labels: Health and Beauty Aids, Refrigerated, Boxed Items, Household Goods, and Miscellaneous. You can usually fit everything into these categories. Set this up and you'll be on your way!

Snatch Up the Good Deals
I'd suggest getting the Sunday Paper of course! There's usually a good amount of coupons in there every week. The Internet is also a lovely source for deals! I'll leave some good sites for coupons below. The only thing about coupons that I don't really like is the fact that I can go to Aldi and get the same thing cheaper than with the coupon. (Aldi is the cheap-o depot store we simply LOVE shopping at) In that situation I usually go ahead and buy the Aldi thing, but you could also wait for that item to go on sale, which will snatch you a great deal! You just have to be careful. Just because you have a coupon for it doesn't mean it's the best deal. That's probably the best piece of advice I could offer to you! Be sure to check off brands like Great Value from WalMart, they're usually cheaper.

Get Organized
Plan what coupons you'll use at the store before you go so that you're not frazzled while you're there. I usually stick the coupons I'll use in the front pocket of my binder. It also serves as a good checklist for what you need to get. It's also good to be familiar with your coupons so you're positive what you have coupons for. You don't want to be searching for a coupon that's not really there!

Check Expiration Dates
These'll get ya! Be sure to keep all of your coupons up to date. It's very annoying to get to the cashier and have your coupons denied because you didn't check the date for them. They expire faster than you think they do, so be sure to stock up on the things you have coupons for while you still have the deal! I've also found that a lot of coupons expire at the same time. That's awful, because then you're left without coupons since they all expired at the same time. Just keep your eye out for those Expiration Dates! They're sneaky.

Life Update.

Hi there. I just thought I should do a post to update you on what's going on with my life. The first thing I want to mention is the fact that it is SO STINKIN' HOT in Oklahoma. I'm about to melt.

7Day Forecast

Do you see that? 114 degrees?! Slap my mammy, that is too darn hot. I'm not one to complain, but that is insane. INSANE. I do have to say that I am very thankful that I'm not in Iraq, where it is 126 degrees. I could be wearing all of that army gear and trying to stay alive while being shot at. I know that was a little random, but I always think of that before I complain about the heat. Anyways, Oklahoma is like the Sahara Desert. My sister's coach from Central Michigan flew down here go over a few things, and he said he had never seen so much dead grass in all of his days! He also told us that there would be no air conditioning in my sister's dorm. She was freaking out, asking my parents to buy her a bunch of fans, then he said that basically no one has air conditioning in Michigan because you could open the window in the summer and feel perfectly cool. I wish we could do that here! My sister is going to learn a lot up there...

It's also about time for my mom to start setting up her classroom! She teaches first grade, and it's tradition that I help her get her room all put together. This year she changed her theme from stars to frogs! We just got the cutest stuff from Mardel's recently, and we're ready for the change! I can't wait.

I'll also be going to Chicago in a few weeks! August 17th we head up to Michigan to move my sister in, after that we'll stop in Chicago to stay with my uncle for a few days. I'm super excited, it's a great little vacation for me. I do hate the city, but I can handle it for a few days. Everyone is just so mean there. They drive so angrily and say mean things. Not my place, I'd never ever live there. I'll be sure to take a lot of pictures to show you!

Like I said in my other post, stay tuned for a blog post on Coupons. It'll basically be about how to start couponing for your family, and how to snatch the good deals. I've learned a lot in the past few months! Talk to you soon!

Obsessions Tuesday.

Hello friends! Stay tuned for an upcoming post giving you an update of my life. This post will most likely be posted on Wednesday because I'm just finishing it up at midnight. Sorry about that.. we'll just have to pretend that it's Tuesday. Help out by playing along! (: Here are this week's obsessions!

So technically the obsession isn't Sally Beauty Supply, but the bobby pins sold from here. They simply have the best bobby pins! I don't know about you, but I get so sick of bobby pins that get all stretched out and don't hold any hair. The bobby pins, specifically from here, are sooo strong and hold your hair very tight. They never fall out, like ever.

I've recently started couponing! I just love the feeling of helping out when it comes to saving money. I don't have a job so I feel like this is a great way for me to stretch the family dollar. I'm gonna do a post on coupons soon, so stay tuned!

Love pinterest! This is an awesome site to organize all of your jumbled up thoughts. I'd definitely recommend you getting one and following me!

Well I hope you enjoyed my obsessions! Bye for now!
