The Time I Fell With a Baby.

Let me just go ahead and say that the Baby and I are okay. We were completely unharmed, I was just completely embarrassed. I was babysitting 3 little ones, Skylar (7), Londyn (5), and Lincoln (1). We decided to go down to the neighborhood pool and swim to cool down. I had forgotten my swimsuit at my grandma's house the past weekend and I couldn't find my other one so I didn't get to bring a swimsuit to their house, so I was in a casual black dress. We got to the pool, Skylar and Londyn headed straight for the slide. Lincoln did the same, only this was not okay because it was 5 ft deep at the end and I'm without a suit. I went to run after him but he had already reached the stairs to the slide. I climbed the stairs to grab him but he was not having it. He screamed and cried; threw his head back. All the while I'm trying to avoid a meltdown I know is already approaching. I pick him up and as I head down the stairs my foot completely slips on the wet step. I, ever so gracefully, fall down, every. single. step... with a child! I instinctively hover over him to protect him in all his tininess. He was okay, I was okay, but I was soooo embarrassed! I still don't know how the people at the pool suppressed their laughter. There weren't that many people there, maybe 8 or 9 at the most. Meanwhile, I'm sopping wet from Lincoln's swimsuit. It was just a big, ugly mess. It wasn't at all funny then, but I look back on it and I crack up! I wish it was on video! It would never get old. Ever. So that is the story of the time I fell with a baby. I hope you enjoyed.

How to Make Your Own Blog Button

Hello everybody! There was a request recently for me to do a tutorial on blog design. At first I was super overwhelmed, cause I'm obviously not a professional. I don't even know if I design my blog in the right way.. I kind of just play around with some stuff and see how it works out, basically a trial and error process.Then I thought about how much I have learned about blog design in these past couple of months and I gained a whole lot of confidence. I look back at when I very first started my blog and compared to now I didn't know anything. I remember setting up my blog and feeling so incredibly lost, not even knowing how to change the font of the Title. So I'm going to take a giant step here and try to tell you how I design a blog button. It was the first request, so I'm going to start off with that. Making a blog button really isn't too hard, I mean obviously, cause I can do it. Haha.
The first thing you need to do is install GIMP. This is the software I use to do all of my blog design. Basically, it's like photoshop but free! I know that it's scary to download stuff to your computer but I promise this is safe. I downloaded it on my brand new laptop which I am so paranoid about. I researched and researched this and everything I read said it was safe. That's all I can say, but I'm not accountable for a virus on your computer! You can go to this site to get that installed. Gimp is heavenly. There are so many possibilites as to what you can make, it's great!

Moving right along! Open up Gimp. At the top you should see a File menu at the top. Scroll down and click New. Once you do that a menu should pop up asking about all kinds of sizes. Delete the 640 and 400 and type 150 in each box. This is the size of a blog button that will fit in the average sidebar. Feel free to make it whatever size you want, but this is the most avearge. Now I'm gonna get all fancy and include a picture for your benefit!

Okay so a little box will pop up, and this is kind of like your canvas. Here's where your own design will come into play! My best advice to you would be to keep it short and sweet and simple. It looks more sleek, I think. For my buttons I usually go and download some free digital scrapbook embellishments from ShabbyPrincess or any other places that have cute little things. To put these cute little things on your blog button you will need to go to the same File menu as before and click on create new layer.From here you should be taken to a menu where you'll pick your embellishment that you've saved to your computer. Click on it. Most likely your embellishment will be huge, so you'll need to resize it. At the top, click on Layer, then scroll to scale layer and enter in a reasonable size. You can adjust it later in case it's not right the first time.You'll need to do this with every embellishment you add to your button.You can also change the background color by clicking one of the black or white boxes just below the list of tools. Also, take notice of the tools, which is the far left box. The most important ones are the Text Tool and the Move Tool. You can scroll over each of the tools and it will tell you what it is and what it's function is. Just keep messing around with things and you'll get the hang of it!

So. You've made your absolutely beautiful blog button and you now have no idea what to do. Let me help. First, you will need to save your button to your computer. After that, go to an image hosting website of your choice such as PhotoBucket or TinyPic. Upload your button to the website. Keep that up, and don't exit out of it! Next you will go to your blogger dashboard and click on Desgin, after that click on Add a Gadget. Select HTML/Javascript and copy the following code.

<img src=”http://YOURBUTTONLOCATION.jpg” />
<br ?> <text area style=”text-align:center”
Rows=”4” cols=”22”><a border=”0”
Href=”http://YOURBLOGADDRESS.com
Target=”_blank”><img
Src=http://YOURBUTTONLOCATION.jpg></a></textarea>
After that code is copied, go back to your image hosting site. Find your button in your album and click on share. You're going to copy the direct link of your image.

So copy that, then go back to the code you copied earlier. Replace the words YOURBUTTONLOCATION with the direct link you just copied. Then replace the words YOURBLOGADDRESS with... well, your blog address. (: I'm so sorry if that was all confusing but I tried, I really did! I hope this helped you! Leave me a link to your blog in the comment section, I'd love to look at it!

Meet My Family.

*Read at your own risk.* (:

Meet the Yorks! Recently I've found myself warning more and more people about my family. Yes, I do mean warning. Here's the thing. All the York-Side people of my family are simply goobers. That is the only descriptive word I could think of that would even come close to explaining the goofiness that is my family. The other thing that I don't think people understand is that I love every single goofy aspect of my family. I'm not embarrassed by them, heck I fit in with them! I only apologize to you if they seem to be making you uncomfortable.. which happens alot. Are you confused? For some reason I have a feeling you are. No worries, I'll break it down for you! Here are some words to describe my family:

-Silly.
-Loud.
-Goofy.
-Crazy.
-Nutty.
-Hilarious.
-Original.
-One of a kind.

Those reasons are why you will get a fair warning if you're encountering my family as a whole. They're simply crazy! I love them to Heaven and back.

I'm going to introduce you to my intermediate family real quick. I'll go ahead and include a short description of each one for you. (:

Here's my Dad!

Here is the lead instigator of silliness. He's always quoting movies that only him and my brother would think are funny, causing any guests utterly confused. It's priceless. I love this guy so much! When he laughs you have to laugh. He's one of a kind and I love him to peices.

Let me tell you, I love my mommy. I honestly have no idea what I would do without her. I tell her anything and everything. Everyone says we are JUST alike, and I believe 'em. We laugh the same, walk the same, have the same smile, make the same faces, everything. I mean, we are together all the time so that would explain it. She keeps things from going to crazy in my family. I love her oh so much. Ain't she just a perrrrty thing?! (:

Next, we have my brother, Taylor. I look up to him SO much. He's 21 and has his own apartment, working and everything. He comes over for dinner almost every night with his little puppy, Killer. He's such a good boy. (Taylor I mean, not the dog) He gives the best advice and simply has his head on straight. Another thing, my dad and him are basically each other's best friend. They play in a band together, which is so cool. My dad plays bass and Taylor plays the drums. They just laugh and laugh with each other cause they're just so alike. I guess they're kind of like my mommy and me. I love him so much!

Here's Rachel! She's 18 and about to go to college way far away in Michigan! We live in Oklahoma so it's like another continent to us, Just Trust Me.. (*Wink Wink.) As I've told you before, she's going to college on a full ride gymnastics scholarship. We're taking her down there in August. It's gonna be hard to adjust to her being so far away, and I'm not looking forward to it at all. We have to be strong though!

Okay so that's all of my immediate family. Next I want to introduce you to my lovely grandparents, and by lovely, I mean lovely. I LOVE my grandparents! Basically, you should be jealous of them. All of them. I'm so lucky that all my grandparents actually live where I do, so I get so see them whenever I want!

Meet my Grandma Taylor. Mother of my mother. This lady is absolutely wonderful. She's so hip! It's like she has the soul of a 30 year old, I just love it. I see her all the time at her house. We swim there almost every weekend in the summer. Once again, I can tell her anything and she listens when she needs to listen and gives advice when that's needed too. I love her soo much!!

This handsome guy is my papaw. Father of my father. He is simply the best grandpa in the universe! He's so sweet and loving. He owns The Music Store on Memorial and came up with the Pride of Broken Arrow. In case you don't live near me, that's kind of a big deal. I love bragging on him, haha! The Pride won Nationals in 2007..? Don't quote me on that. They did win though. Also, my Papaw has Inherited Emphezyma, so in other words he didn't smoke it's just in his genes. I find this so completely unfair it's sickening. He does NOT deserve to suffer with this illness and it just breaks my heart. In case you don't know what it is, it's kind of like Asthsma, but different. It still has to do with breathing though. He also started all the generations of goofy behavior. So, there's my papaw! Love that guy sooo much.

Last, but most certainly not least is my Mamaw. Mother of my father. I love love love love my mamaw. She's one of the sweetest person on the Earth, only next to my other Grandma. She has a signature smell. It's her perfume. Her car, house, purse, everything, smells like... her. I wish you could smell it cause it smells simply wonderful. I don't know what I'd do without her! She makes me smile everytime I come in contact with her! Just love her.

As you can tell I simply LOVE every person in my family. Love. I don't get embarrassed by them, ever. I do want to apologize for the length of this post, however! I just have so much to say about my family! Anyways, I hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks for reading.

Who Am I Kidding, My Prince Will Never Come.

Oh are you in for a special treat. So I'm pretty passionate about this topic and also annoyed by it so you'll just get a taste of everything in this post! I'm pretty excited about this, it'll feel good to let my feelings come out on the screen. As you've probably already noticed, the title of this post is alluding to the song "Someday My Prince Will Come." Only, he's not. So here we go, it may be a bumpy ride.

When it comes to boys I have a lot of different emotions that flood to my brain. I think the very first one is simply annoyance. They annoy me so very much! Honestly, you should probably have some sympathy for the boys. Most of this is probably my ever so strange mind, not them. So I guess I'm sorry. Here's an example, text message style.

Me: So what's up?
Boy: Oh, not much, just working out. It feels good when I have my shirt off, it's so hot outside!
Me: Cool.

Okay. This kinda sorta actually happened to an extent. Did that make sense? Whatever. You've probably already figured out what the problem is and why I would be SO annoyed. 1. You're probably lying right through your teeth, trying to sound all cool about working out. 2. Why was the shirt part even mentioned? Now you're simply embarrassing yourself. See, he wants you to respond all flirty and what not. You could imagine something a normal teenage girl would say. How flipping annoying, just the whole situation!

The next emotion that comes to my mind is naseua. Is naseua an emotion? I don't think so, but let's just pretend. The whole thought that I have to find this guy that will actually be able to relate to me and my mind makes me very queasy. I'm a pretty different person, in a good way. (at least, that's what I tell myself) I just find it hard to find someone that'll be able to handle me, I guess! I know, I'll probably find someone it just doesn't seem so hopeful at this point.

The next emotion is the desire for someone to like/love/want me. I've never really had someone like that, truly. Now I'm going to keep telling myself that I'm simply too young to have a relationship like the one I want. A real one. Not some teenage lovey-dovey fake relationship. I guess you could simply say I want love, not like! Haha. I know that you do not wanna read this so I'm gonna stop now. (:

Boys, I'm not meaning to bash you, really I'm not! I'm so sorry if it came across that way, honestly. I know that not all boys are like the one I described above, that's just a bad one. Haha. I know that you probably didn't really want to read this post, but I wanted to let my feelings come out just a little. Oh and we're just scratchin' the surface here. There's much more!

Obsessions Tuesday

Hey there everyone! I have been seriously enjoying my new laptop. It feels even awesomer using it because I purchased it! It feels simply amazing. Anyways, for this Obsessions Tuesday I have some lovely items to be obsessed with.

First, we have Bath and Body Works... Everything. No joke. I am a Bath and Body works guru. I guess I would have to say that I love the body wash and hand sanitizer the most, but it's a close call with the lotion, body splash, and hand soap. Oh the hand soap! You know that I am a clean freak. To the max of maxes. I wash my hands very frequently, and all I ever use is Bath and Body Works foaming hand soap. Maybe I'm just paranoid, or maybe I'm simply a freak but I feel the cleanest when using this soap. That goes the same for the body wash. I just feel so clean after usage! Haha. Favorite fragrances? Country Chic and Hawaiian Coconut. Get obsessed!

Okay so recently I have been very addicted to cereal. I used to love it when I was younger but for some reason I stopped eating it. I think it might be because I had no time in the morning during the school year for breakfast, I always just had a protein bar on the way! Lynnlee reminded me of the good old days when I ate cereal ALL THE TIME. On the next trip to the storre guess what we bought? Cereal, and lots of it. It makes a lovely late night snack to fill you up before bed. (That is extremely unhealthy and isn't advisable.) My favorite would have to be Reese's Puffs or Cocoa Puffs. I didn't realize I was so into puffs.

My last obsession is Vera Bradley. I simply love it, there's no other way to put it. It is exactly my style since I don't like couture. I have a VB tote for school which I love since it is the perfect amount of room for my books and notebooks. The thing I probably love most about it is the fact that it's so inexpensive compared to other designer purses. It's just so original and reasonable, not to mention adorable! I'd defintely suggest getting obsessed, and fast.

I hope you enjoyed my obsessions for the week! Oh, and breaking news, my guest post for Kenzie will be on Wednesday. CHECK IT OUT. (: I'm super pumped. Hopefully it's not dumb in comparison to the other guest posters, but I still like it.

On This Day in History...

   I WAS BORN. Wooo! Today is my birthday! I'm super excited for today. I've gathered lots of money from babysitting and my parents are putting forth some money to get a LAPTOP. Guess what for? My blog. I'll be the first to tell you that my family is thoroughly annoyed at me being on our computer all the time on, none other than, my blog. No I'm serious, all the time. Most kids are on Facebook or Twitter. Not me, I'm on my blog. I'm pretty sure you've noticed that I change my blog design... a lot. It takes time people! That's why I'm always on the computer! So I've decided a laptop would be a good investment. I'll take a picture soon so that you can see!

So today for my birthday we went to Osaka, this awesome Japanese restaurant. I brought my two best friends, Madison and Lynnlee! We had alot of fun.

Anyways, it was a good time! Be sure to check out my guest post for Kenzie at Cameras & Cupcakes. It should be coming soon so keep checking! I'm super excited.

Obsessions Tuesday.

      So. I'm starting another series but I actually will keep up with it. I apologize for failing at my "Ice Ice Baby" posts but I haven't been as into sno cones this year as I usually am. So, every (hopefully every) Tuesday I will give you my obsessions as of this week. It can be anything. This week my obsessions are as followed:

I am totally hooked on these sparkling waters. You can get them at Walmart for 67 cents. Even I can afford that on a babysitting salary. (; Recently I have gone off of pop. I used to be really addicted to Dr. Pepper and I told myself it was awful for me (which it was) and stopped drinking it. I live off of sweet tea and this sparkling water. Want some flavor suggestions? (and I'm gonna answer that question regardless of your answer..) I love the wild/black cherry flavors and white grape. Strawberry's not bad but I like those other two better. (: If you get key lime flavored it tastes like sprite! The best part? No calories or anything. When drinking this beverage you are drinking nothing. I could handle that, no doubt!

I LOVE this thing. I bought this last week for the school year to come and I simply love it. It's called a curling wand. You wrap your own hair around it, there's no clamp. This curling iron produces a wavy-like look that a curling iron can't do. It's just lovely! Haha. Sooo worth the 30 bucks.

Have you watched this show? If not you must! It's like my favorite show in the world. Basically it's just stories of brides picking out their wedding dresses and all of their troubles. My favorite ones though, are the bridesmaids ones. In these, the bride is deciding with her bridesmaids on the dress she wants. There is one factor that is always there, never failing. Someone has to be a brat. The bride, a bridesmaid, sister, mom, daughters. I'm serious, it never fails! It's a fun show. I love seeing everyone's different tastes in dresses and wedding colors and themes, it's a party. (: Watch it! I'm sure you''ll love it!

Stay tuned for more obsessions to come! I have many.

Picture-taking Frenzy!

   It really was a day of paparazzi! In this case my mom was the paparazzi. Lynnlee and I went out to take some pictures today! So much fun! This post is probably gonna be really long cause I wanna put all the pictures on here cause they're pretty precious. Here's a sneek peek! (:

This is one of our favorites.

Love this one!

Fourth of July Activities!

I had a wonderful Fourth, as said in my earlier post! I wanted to post some pictures of all my fun because for some reason I feel like I haven't taken any good pictures recently. And, we're OFF.

Look at her in all her beauty. Haha, these are the kind of fireworks I approve of. The least amount of fire is involved. I love fireworks I just don't like lighting them.

There they are, my little friends.

I really tried to get some good pictures, honest.

Evidence of a successful day.

Woah, I attempted to catch one!

Lynnlee, Rachel, and Mommy enjoying some fireworks!
 So in our small little town we have this big outing called Rockets over Rhema. Rhema is this hayoooge church that goes big for like every holiday. For the Fourth they put on this giant firework show that everyone gathers to watch! It's a tradition that I really enjoy. (:

 So Lynnlee and I have this giant obsession with Ryan Reynolds. In this particular background of him he likes like a Greek God. He even has a sash. He's beautiful, really he is. I will marry him. Just look at him.

My best shot of Rockets over Rhema. We were probably 5 miles away and they were still that big!
This was an awesome fountain! Scary.
Same fountain! It was a noisy one.

So I hope your Fourth was wonderful! By the way I need to say...  I'M SORRY FOR NOT POSTING MY SUMMER SERIES AS I WELL SHOULD. Truly I will try to get more of those, it's just a little difficult when I can't drive. Oh, and don't forget to check out my book! I hope you like it.

Happy Birthday America!

Hello, hello everyone! I hope all of your Fourth of July festivities are going wonderfully. Today we are swimming at my grandma's house! It's been super fun just being with my family and relaxing. What's on our menu for this Independence Day you ask?

-Rotisserie Chicken and Lemon Pepper Chicken (Oh my lanta, so good.)
-Smoked Sausage
-Fresh Corn on the Cob
-Grilled Onion
-Baked Beans

I will be the first to tell you that it was a heavenly meal. I bet your meals are just as heavenly! I guess that's all for today, but there will be more to come about today! (Pictures and what not.) Have a wonderful Fourth! Pop lots and lots of fireworks, but stay extra careful!
