Websites of Liking

We all have those websites that we simply can't deny checking everytime we get on the computer. I've noticed recently that everytime I go to the address bar I always type "bl" for blogger.com by habit. How embarrassing. Anyways, there are a few websites I always check for enjoyment that I thought you fun people would enjoy! You've probably heard of them before, but I just thought I'd make sure. Some of them make me wonder how I survived without all of their lovely tips that keep me looking decent everyday.

-The Beauty Department: Oh my lanta, they do so much for me. If you haven't gone to their website, click on the link NOW. They supply everything. Makeup, nails, hair tutorials that are to die for, so don't miss out!

-The Daybook: I have simply fallen in love with Sydney and her sweet little family.(You know the blogger is doing her job when you feel like you know her and her life.) She's so relatable and fun, you just have to check out this blog. She provides for advice, tutorials, and outfit inspirations. She really is quite lovely.

-Lauren Conrad: She's also one of the writers for The Beauty Department, which explains why her website is included. Lauren Conrad is such a wonderful example for how to be naturally pretty. She shares all of her secrets on her personal website/blog, and I find all of her information very helpful!

-Kevin and Amanda: If you're a blogger than you're probably familiar with this amazing website. Recipes, crafts, and photography are all included in this helpful and intriguing blog. I've learned a lot about my camera from her, and I've also cooked so many things from her recomendations! Be sure to stop by.

-Pinterest: Yeah, I know, typical. I'm just always on this dang website! Who invented it!? I want to murder and kiss their face all at the same time.. But go ahead, follow me! If you don't have one, get one now. Unless you have very important things to do that you normally find excuses not to do. Then you'd be in trouble,

So there you have it. Oh and while we're on the subject of the internet, let me share my sudden frustration with social networks that you probably don't want to hear. I've come to the conclusion that Facebook is simply a show now. I seriously think they need a "Punch in the Face" button because I would be using it very often. I've found that I don't care about a lot of the people who post crap all over Facebook! Maybe this has to do with the fact that I've discovered the lovely world of blogging which is SO much better than any Social Network. Pfft. So with that, I hope you have a lovely Saturday!

Christmas Treats!

I've been busy at work making Christmas Treats! At the last minute, my mom and I decided to make some oreo truffles for our family. Each individual family got their own little treat. These were just your basic oreo truffles, and if you don't already have the recipe I'll put it down below! Here's what we made. By the way, this tutorial is probably totally ridiculous and self explanatory but it's fun to write them!

So just crush up your package of oreos into fine crumblies. (:
Next, you'll add a whole package of cream cheese and roll this mixture into 1 inch balls. Here's the line up!

I don't have pictures of these next few steps, but all you have to do is stick the lollipop sticks into the balls and dip them into chocolate (white or milk, I prefer white). I would suggest a tall cup for the melted chocolate, it's easier to dip. (Just Trust Me.) You can then add your choice of sprinkles! My favorite part. (:

We found some little tin cans from Target or somewhere and filled them with decorative m&m's, voila! Cute container!

Make some little signs and woah, I've pulled off looking creative. Sort of. I did think they were cute, and oh so delicious! You can't go wrong with these truffles! They're so easy to make but lovely for your tastebuds. Here's that recipe in case you were interested..

1 (16 ounce) package OREO Chocolate Sandwich Cookies, divided
1 (8 ounce) package PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
2 (8 ounce) packages Baking Chocolate, melted
  1. Crush 9 of the cookies to fine crumbs in food processor; reserve for later use. (Cookies can also be finely crushed in a resealable plastic bag using a rolling pin.) Crush remaining 36 cookies to fine crumbs; place in medium bowl. Add cream cheese; mix until well blended. Roll cookie mixture into 42 balls, about 1-inch in diameter.
  2. Dip balls in chocolate; place on wax paper-covered baking sheet. (Any leftover chocolate can be stored at room temperature for another use.) Refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour. Store leftover truffles, covered, in refrigerator.
Hope you have a wonderful holiday! Merry Christmas!

Mascarpone Oreo Snowflake Cookies

It's finally Christmas Break. I've waited oh so long. I haven't really done too much at all but I have made a few things.. (: I had to share these cookies with you! I found them from KevinandAmanda and they simply looked delicious. They really do make me think of snowflakes when I eat them.. Well, enjoy!

This is the Mascarpone cheese! It's sweet cream cheese, and Italian. SO good.

These are so great for a winter snack. Light, fluffy, and oh so delicious!

Getting Ready in a Flash!

Yesterday (ahem.. and today..) I woke up extremely late. I don't really know why! Actually, I do know why. My phone alarm went off and I simply turned it off, not even considering that I should get up. What was I thinking?! I don't know, but regardless of why I woke up late, it happened. I had to hurry hurry hurry to look decent, which didn't succeed to well I might add. I read a post on a blog recently about getting ready with minimal time and I was thinking, "Why didn't I think of that?!" the the whole time. I just couldn't resist sharing! Now when I wake up late I will keep these little tips in mind, I hope you do too!
  1. Cushion your time with the right clothes. Have two emergency outfits ready at all times based on the season. This means, go home tonight and coordinate two failsafe ensembles. Try them on, make sure you like how they look and keep them in mind when you’re in a pinch. If all else fails, go all black and wear a fun pair of shoes along with one quirky accessory.
  2. Use your stash of double duty beauty products. All of the multitasking beauty products are truly a modern marvel. Who knew a cream stick blush could double for lipstick and provide SPF protection? To get fresh on the fly, wash your face with cold water to revive your complexion. If you are able, use redness relief eye drops to wake up your tired eyes. Next, apply your favorite tinted moisturizer with SPF in it. Then use a cheek stain on the apples of your cheeks as well as your lips to add a healthy flush. Finally, take 10 seconds to curl your lashes and swipe on 2 coats of volumizing mascara. Trust me, curled lashes is the best way to make yourself look awake—it really opens up the eyes. As for lip color, you can apply lipstick or gloss en route to your destination…
  3. Know your knots. Unless you are one of the lucky few that wake up with perfect hair, I suggest knowing your topknots, ponys and buns.Note: If your hair is particularly greasy, be sure to have some dry shampoo around to absorb excess oil.
  4. Eat on the go. I’m not a big fan of eating on the run, but it’s important to be well nourished so you can start the day on the right foot. When you’re in a time crunch, snag a banana or granola bar on your way out the door.
  5. Arrive with grace. It’s important to keep things in perspective and not get too caught up in your mistakes. This is something that applies to all aspects of life. We’ve all been there. Needless to say, by remaining calm and collected you will be able to turn your frazzled day around instead of riding the crazy train straight into a full-blown bad day.
I hope these will help you as much as they help me! Have a wonderful weekend, and don't forget to follow me! (:

Christmas Cheer, Number 2.

I'm obsessed with Christmas music. I have no excuse. I think it's because every song brings back memories from when I was a kid. I loved Christmas then too. I was that first grader furiously defending Santa's reliability, so don't mess with me. My very favorite Christmas CD is Michael Buble's. I simply love me some Buble. I thought it would be nice to share this lovely music with you! To go to the next songs just hit next. You probably knew that but I just wanted to be sure you knew that there was more than one song on the playlist. What's your favorite Christmas Song??

6 Annoying Things.

Let's be pessimistic. Usually I'm all for being positive, believing in yourself and what-not, but I'm annoyed with a few things at the moment. Care if I vent? Sorry, but regardless of your answer I'm going to continue with the post.

1. Getting up in the mornings. I hate this. Who doesn't? My friend put it this way:
Me: I really can't stay...
Bed: But baby it's cold outside.
Perfect, right? I never wanna leave my bed because it's freezing in my house! Plus I have to move. Ugh.

2. Political campaigns. I'm already SO TIRED of political campaigns and it's not even 2012!! Everyone knows you're lying, it's just annoying. And yes, people make mistakes during debates, grow up.

3. Tests. I stress out really badly for tests, especially Algebra II types. I feel like I always do badly on them! I just want them to be over. They never will, which is more depressing.

4. Figuring out what to wear. No matter what I do, I never have anything to wear. I could buy 8 new shirts, but after those are worn I'm back to square one with nothing to wear. Getting on Pinterest is no help either, it's just depressing.

5. Breath. Yeah, bad breath has really been getting under my skin. STOP TALKING SO CLOSE TO MY FACE. It's just repulsive and nasty.

6. People. In general. But especially people lingering in the hallways preventing me from walking. Oh, here's another good one, couples! Not cute couples that hold hands and smile at each other, but dumb couples that act like they won't see each other for another 6 months when in reality they're just going to class. Dare I say more?

I'm sorry that this post wasn't bright and uplifting, but we all have our days, right? I do hope you all have a wonderful day!

I just love doing my nails. I used to not because they'd always chip.. which they still do.. but it's perrrty! It's always fun to have different colors on your nails. I have a whole board dedicated to nails on Pinterest (you should go follow me) where you can find tons of cool creations! Here are some of my favorites. Enjoy!

Charlie Chaplin.

Photobucket

In History we've started talking about the 1910's and that era, and one person came up that I just really have an interest in. You guessed it! Charlie Chaplin! I am so interested in him and his story. His talent was just so unique, it's incredible. He grew up in London, very poor. He moved to America for opportunity, but just stole the hearts of the working class of America. This class consisted mostly of poor workers and new immigrants. The thing that made him so successful was the fact the he could relate to these people and entertain them. It was a talent that not many other people ever possessed because it was simply so unique. His story just inspires me, I don't really know why! He had natural, raw talent. The businessmen of America wouldn't let a poor immigrant have the opportunities that he did if he wasn't as talented as he was! He's remarkable. Here's some of it!

Christmas Cheer, Number 1.

You know I love Christmas. Like, to the max. Which is why I am going to enlighten you every single week with something relating to Christmas. It could be a song, a clip from one of my favorite Christmas movies, whatever my little heart desires. (: Hopefully you'll enjoy, I know I will! This week will be one of my VERY FAVORITE MOVIES EVER. The marvelous, Elf. This part always cracks me up. I quote it all the time. Without further ado, here is Elf, telling Santa that he sits on a throne of lies. Merry Christmas!!

Pretty Project

I recently came across a really cool idea. Curling wands are in high demand these days and they can be hard to get or just plain expensive. In case you're in one of these sticky situations, you can create your own curling wand witha curling iron! It's really easy, and it will work just as well as a curling wand would. All you have to do is unscrew a couple of things and there you have it! Just follow the picture. (:

Hey, Here's a Laugh!

So I was recently catching up with all of my blogging friends and I saw from CamerasandCupcakes the cayooootest video that I've watched like a thousand times. It's so adorable. I had to go ahead and share.

You may have already seen it but if you haven't it's GREAT. Hope you enjoyed it. (:

5 Reasons why I don't participate in Black Friday.

I have always wondered why people would ever want to leave their house for Black Friday. Maybe it's tradition or something, or maybe they feel like a loser for eating so much the day before and they need to feel a sense of accomplishment. I'm sorry, but I'm a Humbug for Black Friday. Here's 10 reasons why. (:

1. Crowds of people make me feel very itchy and uncomfortable. Not to mention enveloped in nastiness and germs. I'm sorry I had to take it there.

2. I put up my Christmas Decorations on Friday! I'm very adamant on never celebrating Christmas before Thanksgiving. THANKSGIVING NEEDS ITS TIME TO SHINE TOO. WITHOUT CHRISTMAS TRAMPLING ALL OVER IT AND STEALING ITS THUNDER. So the Friday after Thanksgiving is always filled with Christmas spirit and decorations! YAY!

3. It would be terribly stressful to try to get all of your Christmas items on that day. I'm sure that people don't get all of their gifts on Friday,  but you're still depending on getting items that may or may not be in stock.

4. Long lines make me very grumpy. That should be enough reason in itself.

5. My sister is in town for a very short amount of time, and I must utilize every moment with her!

CHRISTMAS IS ALMOST HERE! I'm so excited. You simply don't know.

Various Word Spewages.

Everyday in school I just want to go home. In fact, I did go home from school on Friday. I was bored and we weren't doing anything, so I had my grandma come get me. It was lovely to be home and know that I was supposed to be at school.. (: That feeling is simply the best. Michelle and I just ate very unhealthy things from Mazzio's and watched the Proposal. It was very fulfilling. Anyways, I just want to stay at home. All day. Which is pretty embarrassing and lazy, but I want to stay here and do nothing. Nothing at all. Thank goodness for Thanksgiving!

Tomorrow we're watching the BAHS's performance of The Diary of Anne Frank. I've already seen it, but I can't WAIT to see it again! Best part? We get to miss school. Do you hear that? Is that the Halleleujah Chorus? Yes, I believe it is.

You know what I'm super excited for?? I've already mentioned it like 8 times, but THANKSGIVING. I'm gonna stay the night with my grandma and peel some potatoes. I also have to cut them. You do not understand the huge amount of potatoes involved in this. It's like, 20 pounds of potatoes. I'll take pictures of all our Thanksgiving goodies. Guess what happens on Friday?! CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS AND MUSIC. Prepare for pictures of my excessive Christmas spirit.

YAY.

Thank Goodness for:

Oh, wow. It's almost Thanksgiving. EEP! I love this holiday because I can eat things in very large portions and not be judged. Woo! On a serious note, it is a time to be thankful for the things you have in your life. Sometimes I wonder if I take a lot of things and people in my life for granted. Not on purpose of course! But I do need to remember how amazing these people are and the huge impact they have on me. SO. Thank you...

Mom. Dad. Taylor. Rachel. Grandma. Mamaw. Papaw. Shea. Lynnlee. Madison. Michelle. Caili. Nina. Caitlyn. Dani. Madison Winn, and Katrina.

You guys keep me going and just put a smile on my face everyday! I love you all. (:

I'm thankful that I have a roof over my head. I'm healthy. I'm not in Iraq or Afghanistan. I'm happy. I'm fed. I'm clothed. I get to see my SISTER soon!

Yes, I'm thankful. Very thankful indeed. (:

Autumn Leaves

I'm gonna be a nerd here, and share some poetry. I thought the leaves looked so pretty on the ground so I had to find a poem to go with my picture. (:

 photo IMG_8328.jpg

Leaves in the autumn came tumbling down,
Scarlet and yellow, russet and brown,
Leaves in the garden were swept in a heap,
Trees were undressing, ready for sleep.

HAPPY FALL. (:

The Frankenstein Adventure.

I LOVED DOING THIS SHOW. Really, I did. It was a blast. I never had time to get any pictures, I can tell you that much. The ones that I'll show you (there's not very many) are from my ever dearest friend, Dani! She got some good pictures.. I just have to find a way to get a hold of them. (: The only ones I have are of us backstage being idiots, which I'm perfectly fine with! Haha. Let's begin, shall we?

I love Shea! She's so adorable.

Notice I'm curling my hair. IT TOOK FOREVER. GAH

What a party!

Aww, pretty Michelle! (:
HUGE wedding dress.

I'm sorry, but selections are very few. Hopefully I can grab some more to show you! We had a photographer and all, but you have to pay money to get a hold of the pictures! Eww! So we're sticking with the few we have. (:

Post of Shame.

Yeah.. so let's just put it out there.. I'm sorry. I have FAILED as a blogger recently, but I must say it's with good reason! Frankenstein happened! (There will soon be a post over this) It was just crazy the last 2 weeks, and I had no time to do anything. Anyways, I'm back now! I have like 4 posts that are definitely delayed, so keep checking back soon to see them! BYE. (:

Life as I Know It.

Hey hey hey! Guess what?! Frankenstein opens in TWO WEEKS. That is insane. We move into the auditorium this week... which is super exciting. We saw the set on Friday which is even more exciting! AHHH. If you aren't already planning to come to a performance, you need to. The theatre department needs all the support it can get! Tickets are 5 dollars, the show is October 27th and 29th.

School has finally started to SETTLE DOWN. It was incredibly tooo stressful the past two weeks, and I'm so glad things are calming down. No more books to read this semester, no more research papers, THANK GOODNESS. (By the way, I did well on my research paper, which makes me really happy. It took forever.)

So I'm really angry because my kindle is frozen. It won't turn on! I don't know what in the world to do. It froze on the screen so I turned it off, and it won't turn back on. WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN TO ME? I feel like crying. I love that thing. Hopefully I can look at troubleshooting or something and get it un-frozen. Sigh.

I want to be a pregnant nun for Halloween. Is that weird? I think it's pretty funny. I mean how many times do you see a pregnant nun in your lifetime?! Never. You never do. I have to be one. It's decided.

I apologize for the randomness of this post, it's almost embarrassing how un-topicy it was. Forgive me. I'll try to catch some Frankenstein pictures from my awesome friend Dani, she's our photographer for the show, and the ones I saw were pretty cool. Stay tuned!!

Obsessions Tuesday

Woah. Obsessions Tuesday? For real Bekah? Since when do you do those posts? Man, freaky stuff. YEAH, I'm actually doing an Obsessions Tuesday! YAY! Lately, I've had some new obesessions. You're in for a treat.

Nail Polish. OPI, more specifically. To tell you the truth, I hate actually painting my nails, I just like having the color on them. It's so much fun to have fun-colored nails! PARTY!

Owls. Come one, you can't deny these animals. They're so stinkin' cute! Especially in 'cartoon' form. I got a shirt on sale the other day with an owl on it and I simply love it. When my mom was picking out her classroom theme, there was an owl set of stuff! It was adorable. My mom was just worried it was too girly. Anyways, they're just so cute.

Headbands. I didn't really notice this obsession until some of my friends told me. I don't like my bangs to be in my face, and I think they add a nice touch to any outfit. They're a win-win situation to me. I have a lot of black ones with flowers on them, just because they go with everything.

Hope you enjoyed this week's obsessions! Have a wonderful day! Be sure to follow me if you don't already. (:

Story of my Life. (Intro)

My friend Michelle and I have been saying one phrase very excessively lately. You guessed it, "Story of my Life." I'm not exactly sure where we got this phrase or even when we started saying it, but we definitely say it. A lot. It's just a great phrase. It's for those moments when it's the definition of your life, right there. It happens a lot at school and especially at rehearsal! I'm just going to start letting you in on some of the good ones that just explain us and our lives to a tee. Oh, and I can't post something having to do with Michelle without a picture of her, can I?!

BOOMER SOONER. It must be said.

Solar System of Zits.

I'm terribly sorry that I fail at blogging right now, but just try to bare (bear?) with me. Let me take a moment to complain just a little... I have a lot on my plate. Like, a lot. Most of it with school, and the play. I'll convieniently make a list of some of the many things I've had to do or need to do these past 2 weeks.

-Read Huckelberry Finn by October 7th
-Read Handmaid's Tale and write a critical analysis as my reasearch paper
-Memorize all lines for Frankenstein by October 7th
-English Test over like.. everything on October 7th
-(I swear the world is going to END on October 7th)
-Memorize a Dramatic and Comedic Monologue
-Math Homework every day of my life
-PSAT preparations and taking the actual test on October 12th. Hopefully the world will end on October 7th so I don't have to take that.
-Math Test that I freaked out over
-AHHHHHHHH

So anyways, that's why I've been MIA. I really will get back into a posting groove. I have a new series planned which should be pretty entertaining. We'll see how it goes. Oh, are you wondering about the title? My dear friend, Jay Mancini, told me I have a solar system of zits on my forehead. In all honesty, I do. They're actually in the shape of a rectangle... and they're all from stress. YAY. Have a great day!! (:

Book Review: Handmaid's Tale

Hi blog friends! It was a very crazy week. I feel like I say that every week, but it's the truth. I got no more than 6 hours of sleep every night this week. Why? Rehearsal. HOMEWORK. Favorite TV shows... Umm. But anyways! We started our research project this week in English and it sometimes makes me want to claw my eyeballs out of my head, but I guess I'm surviving it. Haha. For the topic, I chose to read a Banned Book called Handmaid's Tale. Banned books are kind of self explanatory, but just to make sure things aren't foggy I'll go ahead and tell you what they are. These are books that have been banned from a library of some sort. They all have very controversial topics in them, and they're usually banned on Social, Religious, Sexual or Political grounds. Mine was basically on Sexual and Religious Grounds. Here, I'll give you a short summary.

A group of terrorists have killed the president and all of congress. They suspend the Constitution 'in an attempt to sustain order'. They take advantage of electronic banking and suspend all women's accounts, then they basically strip all women of any rights. The Republic of Gilead is created. Women are taken and put in concubines. They are kept for reproductive purposes because of declining birth/fertility rates. The government restricts them of any rights you could think of. Told from the point of view of Offred, the book goes through all of her experinces trying to escape the concubine and find her husband and daughter, who she was seperated from by the government.

It seemed like it took forever to read this book, but it's probably just me! There's a lot of controversy over the sexual content in this book, and the anti-christian beliefs it seems to have imbedded in it. It's definitely a thinking book, not just an easy read. If you read it, prepare to be offended. (:

So I just finished reading that book, and now I have to read the Adventures of Huckelberry Finn by Oct. 7th! GAHHHH. It's too much. That's also piled on top of rehearsal, Algebra II Homework, and Chemistry. I really don't think teachers know, or really even care, how much homework they give to us. It's ridiculous. So, if there isn't a recent blog post on here, you know what I'm doing. Hopefully I'll still have time to write some posts! Stay tuned. (:

Falling for Fall!

I am just so excited that Fall is knocking on my door. It's pretty much officially here... to me! I think Fall is one of my favorite seasons. All of the smells and fashions that goes along with this season just make it lovely. I have a LOT more Fall clothes right now than I do Summer clothes. When I went school shopping I got cardigans, BOOTS, and long-sleeved shirts. I do that every year, there's just not enough Summer left for me to buy shorts and sandals! Wanna know something exciting? I bought my first Fall Scentsy Bars. AHH! The new catalog is out and they have some great stuff. I got some favorites:

As for fashion, I'm dead set on these boots that I bought. They're my first big boot purchase, and I just love them! I saved up to buy them, that's how in love I was. They're really casual and versatile. I'm also into scarves and jewelry. Earrings are essential to all my outfits. (: I want to try to take pictures of what I wear to school to give you kind of an idea of my style, but I'd have to get someone to take it. I'm usually the photographer in this family. I'm sure my mom won't mind..

Stay tuned to {JTM} for a new story on Lynnlee and me babysitting together. We had some adventures. (: For now, toodaloo!
