Wacky Wednesdays: For the Love of Shakespeare!!

A high profile Chinese author is planning to spend more than $150,000 on plastic surgery to make himself look like William Shakespeare. Zhang Yiyi will undergo 10 surgeries over a 10-month period to sculpt his face into the spitting image of the British playwright, the Shanghai Daily reported. "Life is a process of striving to become a better person. I think the surgeries are worth the money," Zhang was quoted as saying. The surgeon set to perform the procedures said it would not be too difficult because Zhang already has a sculpted face with a sharp nose and deep eyes, similar to Shakespeare. The work would focus on his chin and eyes, the report said. Zhang's plan, first reported by China National Radio, was dismissed as attention-seeking by many Chinese internet users. Zhang is a controversial figure who once compared himself to China's great sage, Confucius.

Okay so I read this and I think, what the heck? Who would want to look like this guy?!

No offense Shakespeare, I respect you and all, but you're not the best looking guy around.. The next thing that came to mind was the fact that we don't even have proof of how Shakespeare looked! I find it very stupid and idiotic. Sorry Zhang, but you're a little.. well.. CRAZY.

My YouTube Favorites!

We all know the situation when someone comes up to you and says "Oh my gosh! I just watched the (insert adjective here) video on youtube! You have got to see it!!!!" I always kind of dread watching it, assuming it's not as (insert adjective here) as they say it is. Usually I end up agreeing with the person who showed me, and I make everyone I know watch it a few moments later. Oh the magic OF... YouTube. What a great addition to all of the cool/handy things in this world!! Here are the videos I have fell in love with recently. Hope you enjoy!

My friend Lynnlee showed me this hilarious video that made me laugh and go "AWWW!" lots of times. Watch it first:

Precious right?! The momma duck seems so frazzled and confused. I also love the fact that they end up regrouping and continuing along their walk. Priceless.

Our next video is one of my very favorites. My teachers showed this to me at school, and I simply fell in LOVE!

How touching is THAT?! I almost wanted to cry. It is definitely one of my favorites... ever.

Now we have the COOKIES KID! My mommy and I could watch this over and over and over and OVER again! He's sooo cute!!

My last video to share with you is with a girl I saw on Ellen. She has just gotten her wisdom teeth out and is a little loopy.. (:

Well I hope you enjoyed! I'm sure you've seen a lot of these, but I still wanted to share, in case you missed some. Check back at JTM for tomorrows Wacky Wednesday!

Wacky Wednesday: Tornado Season!

We're in the heart of Tornado Season right NOW. I live in Oklahoma, and we are definitely in the middle of the well-known tornado alley. We have had some tornado touch downs recently, and I feel obligated to share a story to you!

It's a Thursday. Last Thursday to be exact. We were ready to head to Plano, TX for my sister's gymnastics Regional Competition. We had heard the threat for severe weather, but we thought we would miss it since we were headed south. Too bad we didn't! We basically followed the storms the WHOLE WAY DOWN THERE. I felt like I had been on a 2 mile jog just from worrying so much and looking for the white lines on the road! Here's what we were dealing with.

We were actually okay until we got to McAlester, then the sky got pitch black, and we knew that things were going to get worse before they got better. We drove in rains so heavy that it almost caused flash floods, along with hail, thunder, and lightning. It was a TERRIFYING experience! We stopped at a Love's in an area right before the small town of Atoka, OK. The place was packed with gobs and gobs of people. It didn't cross our minds that people were stopping to take cover.. oops. We decided after all of the potty breaks to go ahead and push on through to Texas since we had already got a late start at leaving. We started heading down the road and many trees and power lines were blown down. Keep in mind that it was SO DARK since all the power was out. We kept driving and saw lots of ambulances, police, flashing lights, etc. We also began to notice lots of debris had been tossed around on top of things. THERE HAD BEEN A TORNADO. Like, right before we headed in that direction. We counted 4 (yes FOUR!) semis that had been blown on their sides, and many mobile homes had been thrown around. Here, take a look for yourself, I'm not fibbin'.

It was really scary. Thank the dear Lord for looking out for us and getting us there and back safely, and in one piece! I guess this isn't a very wacky post but I wanted to provide you with information about tornadoes. Since I only have 5 followers, and you're all from Oklahoma, you most likely know these things! But I have to believe in myself and hope more people will read all my babbles. Here's some fun facts about these scary storms!

-A tornado is a violent storm commonly known as a twister that brings destruction to people and property. Tornadoes mostly hit the United States of America although they might come anytime and anywhere. Tornadoes are high speed winds that hit the place generally in the months of March to May. The speed and size of the tornado can vary to any extent. Tornadoes are generally accompanied with thunderstorms. Some common signs of tornadoes are dark, blackish green sky, hailstorm and loud sounds like that of a yelling train etc.

-The main reason of occurrence of a tornado is the meeting of warm air that rises up the ground with the cool air that rushes down to descend. A tornado may rotate either in clockwise or anticlockwise direction. The speed of rotation of this funnel shaped tornado is so high that it destroys everything that comes in its way. The strength of a tornado is so high that it can uproot trees, blow the roofs of the buildings or even crumple down buildings to ashes. The color of a tornado depends upon two factors the surroundings and the time of the day. The tornado is a noisy wind; the sound of which can be either high or low depending upon the obstructions in the way.

-It has been recorded that almost eight hundred to one thousand tornadoes hit America every year killing 80 people and injuring around fifteen hundred. Other tornado prone areas are south of Canada, south of Africa, some regions of Australia, New Zealand and Asia. "Tri-state" tornado that hit United States of America in March 18, 1925 was the deadliest tornado and tornado in Oklahoma in 1999 was the most destructive tornado known to men. Interesting fact about tornado is that some people survived being in the middle of tornado.

Welcome to the Future.

So I was sitting in Government today and I looked around and realized.. "Oh my gosh.. this is our future. Like.. these people." Frankly, this thought freaks me out. I better mention the fact that I go to the oldest, grossest, and most GHETTO school in all of our town. I would show you a picture but I'm too embarrassed. I should also probably mention that I wasn't in an advanced class.. so yeah. BUT the fact still remains that the future generation of the world is kind of, well, not very bright. I shouldn't say that, it's bright but it's eh, about a 3 watt. Lemme just say ahead of time that I did NOT mean to cause conflict or make anyone upset, but I decided to branch out here and try a post about an issue in our world.

One issue in our teens is the fact that they have NO respect for any elder whatsoever. You should see the problems that happen at my school. The difference now days is that no punishment will make them feel any trace of guilt at all. Call your parents? They don't care. Get on to them? They laugh. Take their phone? They'll get it back soon enough. Nothing works! Our youth has become stubborn and disrespectful, and frankly it's unacceptable. I kinda feel like a teacher or a parent writing this, but I can't seem to understand why other kids don't see this too. Maybe I'm mature for my age, or maybe my parents have raised me to believe like this; whatever the case, I still believe these things are true.

I can't even tell you how many fights there has been at North. I'd say at least 20. At a very minimum. Girls are included in the 'fighting' category, in fact there has probably been just as many girl fights as there has been boy fights. In my opinion, this is just plain low. Girls fighting? Trashy. Girls, especially girls just don't fight. It's immature and very just wrong. Those are the only words I can use to describe it. I may be a goody good or something, but I would much rather be that than the words that are used to describe girls that fight. Sorry 'bout it.

Another growing problem among teen is the inability to say NO. They can't say no to basically anything! It's really not as hard as they make it seem. They can't say no to drugs, alcohol, sex, or just bad choices in general. Addiction has been a growing problem for a while now, but it's peaked in our era. Substance abusers really don't understand what is happening to their body when they give in to it that one time. You can read about that here. The amount of teen pregnancies has also drastically spiked. It's only a matter of self control and simply saying no! They also don't understand the amount of work it takes to raise a child, especially if you haven't even finished high-school. Their lives will never be the same.. ever.

This is different for me! I wanted to go out on a limb and post something that I care about, and it's a little more of a solemn tone. Don't worry! Funny stuff isn't gone, but there will be more diversity in the things that you read on Just Trust Me..! (P.S: Did you notice JTM got a little makeover??) Stay tuned for more posts about various things! Oh, and check out the new 'labels' feature that I added on the sidebar!

Wacky Wednesdays: School banned lunches brought from home??

I'm sure that packing school lunches for kids every day is an annoying chore. But what if you weren’t
allowed to?

One Chicago school has banned lunches brought from home, the Chicago Tribune reports. Administrators at Little Village Academy, a public school, say the policy is all in the name of good health. Principal Elsa Carmona told the Tribune she created the policy after watching students bring "bottles of soda and flaming hot chips" for their lunch. What the heck?? It's not that big of a deal! The principal said that it is about quality and nutritious meals that are available for students in the cafeteria. I don't know about this school, but our lunches are anything but quality! I don't even think the chicken is real..

Unless a student has a medical excuse to bring food from home, the only option other than eating cafeteria food is to eat nothing. (Think those kids will ace a quiz on an empty stomach?) And does something like glucose intolerance merit a medical excuse? What about vegetarianism? Cost is another matter. What if parents don't want to spend money on school lunch because they can send less expensive food from home?

If I were a parent I would move schools, or put up a big fight. Its ridiculous! Things these days are blown waaaay out of proportion. It's just sad. Anyways, I thought this was a little weird.. Hope you liked it!!

My Mommy!!

I love my mom with every fiber of my being. We get along soo well, and she makes me happy! We've been best buds for a while..

And we still are! Recently she got picked as her school's Teacher of the Year! I was immensely proud. She definitely deserved it, and although she considered it a pain in her hiney she was still satisfied with the outcome. Dinner was provided for all of the site teachers of the year and it was very delicious! It started off with a very colorful salad that I found fascinating!

So I have a confession. I don't have a picture of the main dish because I saw it and dug in. Taking the picture didn't even cross my mind until after it was all gone. I apologize. Since I was so ashamed of my actions I was sure to take pictures of the desert. Talk about YUMMY.

Here's some pictures of the guests that we had with us.

Grandma and Taylor.

This is my mom with her school's assistant principal.

Mommy and Daddy.

The center pieces were SO NEAT. I want to steal the idea and use it at my wedding. There was a Daisy floating in water with rocks at the bottom. It was so cute!

It was a really fun night!

On the other hand, I have mentioned previously that I LOVE LOVE LOVE sitting on my roof. I decided that I needed to explain this process. Here is my roof and window..

There's my window. It's great. Anyways.. I love Spring!! Just Trust Me.

Catching Up

So... I sincerely apologize for my absence. I have been SO FREAKING BUSY with Little Shop of Horrors and of course, homework. I am so sleep deprived, I really don't know how it is possible that I'm still moving. Good things have happened though! Little Shop of Horrors opened Thursday, and it was an amazing show. The audience loved it and I had SUCH blast! It was a truly amazing experience. There will definitely be more shows to come so DON'T MISS OUT! Here are some fun pictures of various people in the play.

That's Mark Fry, he did the voice of the plant.

It was so fun. There WILL be more of them! Just Trust Me.
