Websites of Liking

We all have those websites that we simply can't deny checking everytime we get on the computer. I've noticed recently that everytime I go to the address bar I always type "bl" for blogger.com by habit. How embarrassing. Anyways, there are a few websites I always check for enjoyment that I thought you fun people would enjoy! You've probably heard of them before, but I just thought I'd make sure. Some of them make me wonder how I survived without all of their lovely tips that keep me looking decent everyday.

-The Beauty Department: Oh my lanta, they do so much for me. If you haven't gone to their website, click on the link NOW. They supply everything. Makeup, nails, hair tutorials that are to die for, so don't miss out!

-The Daybook: I have simply fallen in love with Sydney and her sweet little family.(You know the blogger is doing her job when you feel like you know her and her life.) She's so relatable and fun, you just have to check out this blog. She provides for advice, tutorials, and outfit inspirations. She really is quite lovely.

-Lauren Conrad: She's also one of the writers for The Beauty Department, which explains why her website is included. Lauren Conrad is such a wonderful example for how to be naturally pretty. She shares all of her secrets on her personal website/blog, and I find all of her information very helpful!

-Kevin and Amanda: If you're a blogger than you're probably familiar with this amazing website. Recipes, crafts, and photography are all included in this helpful and intriguing blog. I've learned a lot about my camera from her, and I've also cooked so many things from her recomendations! Be sure to stop by.

-Pinterest: Yeah, I know, typical. I'm just always on this dang website! Who invented it!? I want to murder and kiss their face all at the same time.. But go ahead, follow me! If you don't have one, get one now. Unless you have very important things to do that you normally find excuses not to do. Then you'd be in trouble,

So there you have it. Oh and while we're on the subject of the internet, let me share my sudden frustration with social networks that you probably don't want to hear. I've come to the conclusion that Facebook is simply a show now. I seriously think they need a "Punch in the Face" button because I would be using it very often. I've found that I don't care about a lot of the people who post crap all over Facebook! Maybe this has to do with the fact that I've discovered the lovely world of blogging which is SO much better than any Social Network. Pfft. So with that, I hope you have a lovely Saturday!

Christmas Treats!

I've been busy at work making Christmas Treats! At the last minute, my mom and I decided to make some oreo truffles for our family. Each individual family got their own little treat. These were just your basic oreo truffles, and if you don't already have the recipe I'll put it down below! Here's what we made. By the way, this tutorial is probably totally ridiculous and self explanatory but it's fun to write them!

So just crush up your package of oreos into fine crumblies. (:
Next, you'll add a whole package of cream cheese and roll this mixture into 1 inch balls. Here's the line up!

I don't have pictures of these next few steps, but all you have to do is stick the lollipop sticks into the balls and dip them into chocolate (white or milk, I prefer white). I would suggest a tall cup for the melted chocolate, it's easier to dip. (Just Trust Me.) You can then add your choice of sprinkles! My favorite part. (:

We found some little tin cans from Target or somewhere and filled them with decorative m&m's, voila! Cute container!

Make some little signs and woah, I've pulled off looking creative. Sort of. I did think they were cute, and oh so delicious! You can't go wrong with these truffles! They're so easy to make but lovely for your tastebuds. Here's that recipe in case you were interested..

1 (16 ounce) package OREO Chocolate Sandwich Cookies, divided
1 (8 ounce) package PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
2 (8 ounce) packages Baking Chocolate, melted
  1. Crush 9 of the cookies to fine crumbs in food processor; reserve for later use. (Cookies can also be finely crushed in a resealable plastic bag using a rolling pin.) Crush remaining 36 cookies to fine crumbs; place in medium bowl. Add cream cheese; mix until well blended. Roll cookie mixture into 42 balls, about 1-inch in diameter.
  2. Dip balls in chocolate; place on wax paper-covered baking sheet. (Any leftover chocolate can be stored at room temperature for another use.) Refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour. Store leftover truffles, covered, in refrigerator.
Hope you have a wonderful holiday! Merry Christmas!

Getting Ready in a Flash!

Yesterday (ahem.. and today..) I woke up extremely late. I don't really know why! Actually, I do know why. My phone alarm went off and I simply turned it off, not even considering that I should get up. What was I thinking?! I don't know, but regardless of why I woke up late, it happened. I had to hurry hurry hurry to look decent, which didn't succeed to well I might add. I read a post on a blog recently about getting ready with minimal time and I was thinking, "Why didn't I think of that?!" the the whole time. I just couldn't resist sharing! Now when I wake up late I will keep these little tips in mind, I hope you do too!
  1. Cushion your time with the right clothes. Have two emergency outfits ready at all times based on the season. This means, go home tonight and coordinate two failsafe ensembles. Try them on, make sure you like how they look and keep them in mind when you’re in a pinch. If all else fails, go all black and wear a fun pair of shoes along with one quirky accessory.
  2. Use your stash of double duty beauty products. All of the multitasking beauty products are truly a modern marvel. Who knew a cream stick blush could double for lipstick and provide SPF protection? To get fresh on the fly, wash your face with cold water to revive your complexion. If you are able, use redness relief eye drops to wake up your tired eyes. Next, apply your favorite tinted moisturizer with SPF in it. Then use a cheek stain on the apples of your cheeks as well as your lips to add a healthy flush. Finally, take 10 seconds to curl your lashes and swipe on 2 coats of volumizing mascara. Trust me, curled lashes is the best way to make yourself look awake—it really opens up the eyes. As for lip color, you can apply lipstick or gloss en route to your destination…
  3. Know your knots. Unless you are one of the lucky few that wake up with perfect hair, I suggest knowing your topknots, ponys and buns.Note: If your hair is particularly greasy, be sure to have some dry shampoo around to absorb excess oil.
  4. Eat on the go. I’m not a big fan of eating on the run, but it’s important to be well nourished so you can start the day on the right foot. When you’re in a time crunch, snag a banana or granola bar on your way out the door.
  5. Arrive with grace. It’s important to keep things in perspective and not get too caught up in your mistakes. This is something that applies to all aspects of life. We’ve all been there. Needless to say, by remaining calm and collected you will be able to turn your frazzled day around instead of riding the crazy train straight into a full-blown bad day.
I hope these will help you as much as they help me! Have a wonderful weekend, and don't forget to follow me! (:
