Freaky Friday? -Beards and Mustaches.

Once again, I am dreadfully sorry about slacking on Wacky Wednesday posts, it's just hard to be consistent. For now it is Freaky Friday! (Instead of Wacky Wednesday.) Today's exclusive Freaky Friday post is about the world's weirdest beards and mustaches. This is most likely going to be one of my favorite wacky posts!! Here's a little background info for ya.

The Beards and Moustaches World Championship 2011 took place in Trondheim, Norway, featuring "the world's most elaborate facial hair." Contestants are judged in several categories, including "sideburns freestyle" and "Fu Manchu." Though Germany has historically dominated the sport, the United States has continued a climb that began in 2009 (when the competition was held in Alaska) to vie for the lead, according to the contest's official site. This year, the USA took home six golds, while Germany garnered seven. 15 countries competed.

   Enjoy scrolling through these!

Sorry if they're a little gross! Haha

Wacky Wednesdays: For the Love of Shakespeare!!

A high profile Chinese author is planning to spend more than $150,000 on plastic surgery to make himself look like William Shakespeare. Zhang Yiyi will undergo 10 surgeries over a 10-month period to sculpt his face into the spitting image of the British playwright, the Shanghai Daily reported. "Life is a process of striving to become a better person. I think the surgeries are worth the money," Zhang was quoted as saying. The surgeon set to perform the procedures said it would not be too difficult because Zhang already has a sculpted face with a sharp nose and deep eyes, similar to Shakespeare. The work would focus on his chin and eyes, the report said. Zhang's plan, first reported by China National Radio, was dismissed as attention-seeking by many Chinese internet users. Zhang is a controversial figure who once compared himself to China's great sage, Confucius.

Okay so I read this and I think, what the heck? Who would want to look like this guy?!

No offense Shakespeare, I respect you and all, but you're not the best looking guy around.. The next thing that came to mind was the fact that we don't even have proof of how Shakespeare looked! I find it very stupid and idiotic. Sorry Zhang, but you're a little.. well.. CRAZY.

Just Trust Me.. (:

Wacky Wednesday: Tornado Season!

We're in the heart of Tornado Season right NOW. I live in Oklahoma, and we are definitely in the middle of the well-known tornado alley. We have had some tornado touch downs recently, and I feel obligated to share a story to you!

It's a Thursday. Last Thursday to be exact. We were ready to head to Plano, TX for my sister's gymnastics Regional Competition. We had heard the threat for severe weather, but we thought we would miss it since we were headed south. Too bad we didn't! We basically followed the storms the WHOLE WAY DOWN THERE. I felt like I had been on a 2 mile jog just from worrying so much and looking for the white lines on the road! Here's what we were dealing with.

We were actually okay until we got to McAlester, then the sky got pitch black, and we knew that things were going to get worse before they got better. We drove in rains so heavy that it almost caused flash floods, along with hail, thunder, and lightning. It was a TERRIFYING experience! We stopped at a Love's in an area right before the small town of Atoka, OK. The place was packed with gobs and gobs of people. It didn't cross our minds that people were stopping to take cover.. oops. We decided after all of the potty breaks to go ahead and push on through to Texas since we had already got a late start at leaving. We started heading down the road and many trees and power lines were blown down. Keep in mind that it was SO DARK since all the power was out. We kept driving and saw lots of ambulances, police, flashing lights, etc. We also began to notice lots of debris had been tossed around on top of things. THERE HAD BEEN A TORNADO. Like, right before we headed in that direction. We counted 4 (yes FOUR!) semis that had been blown on their sides, and many mobile homes had been thrown around. Here, take a look for yourself, I'm not fibbin'.

It was really scary. Thank the dear Lord for looking out for us and getting us there and back safely, and in one piece! I guess this isn't a very wacky post but I wanted to provide you with information about tornadoes. Since I only have 5 followers, and you're all from Oklahoma, you most likely know these things! But I have to believe in myself and hope more people will read all my babbles. Here's some fun facts about these scary storms!

-A tornado is a violent storm commonly known as a twister that brings destruction to people and property. Tornadoes mostly hit the United States of America although they might come anytime and anywhere. Tornadoes are high speed winds that hit the place generally in the months of March to May. The speed and size of the tornado can vary to any extent. Tornadoes are generally accompanied with thunderstorms. Some common signs of tornadoes are dark, blackish green sky, hailstorm and loud sounds like that of a yelling train etc.

-The main reason of occurrence of a tornado is the meeting of warm air that rises up the ground with the cool air that rushes down to descend. A tornado may rotate either in clockwise or anticlockwise direction. The speed of rotation of this funnel shaped tornado is so high that it destroys everything that comes in its way. The strength of a tornado is so high that it can uproot trees, blow the roofs of the buildings or even crumple down buildings to ashes. The color of a tornado depends upon two factors the surroundings and the time of the day. The tornado is a noisy wind; the sound of which can be either high or low depending upon the obstructions in the way.

-It has been recorded that almost eight hundred to one thousand tornadoes hit America every year killing 80 people and injuring around fifteen hundred. Other tornado prone areas are south of Canada, south of Africa, some regions of Australia, New Zealand and Asia. "Tri-state" tornado that hit United States of America in March 18, 1925 was the deadliest tornado and tornado in Oklahoma in 1999 was the most destructive tornado known to men. Interesting fact about tornado is that some people survived being in the middle of tornado.

Wacky Wednesdays: School banned lunches brought from home??

I'm sure that packing school lunches for kids every day is an annoying chore. But what if you weren’t
allowed to?

One Chicago school has banned lunches brought from home, the Chicago Tribune reports. Administrators at Little Village Academy, a public school, say the policy is all in the name of good health. Principal Elsa Carmona told the Tribune she created the policy after watching students bring "bottles of soda and flaming hot chips" for their lunch. What the heck?? It's not that big of a deal! The principal said that it is about quality and nutritious meals that are available for students in the cafeteria. I don't know about this school, but our lunches are anything but quality! I don't even think the chicken is real..

Unless a student has a medical excuse to bring food from home, the only option other than eating cafeteria food is to eat nothing. (Think those kids will ace a quiz on an empty stomach?) And does something like glucose intolerance merit a medical excuse? What about vegetarianism? Cost is another matter. What if parents don't want to spend money on school lunch because they can send less expensive food from home?

If I were a parent I would move schools, or put up a big fight. Its ridiculous! Things these days are blown waaaay out of proportion. It's just sad. Anyways, I thought this was a little weird.. Hope you liked it!!

Just Trust Me.

Wacky Wednesday: World's Largest Wacky Things

I haven't posted a lot lately because I've had rehearsal for the musical that I'm in called..... LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS. It's an absolutely AMAZING show! Lately we've had rehearsals from 3:30 until 11:00 sometimes later. Go see it!! Here's information you need to know...

-It is on March 31st, April 1st and April 2nd.
-Curtain is at 7:00
-They are RESERVED seats, so make sure and pick up your PRE-ORDERED tickets at the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center on Main Street.
-Tickets are $8.00 for children and $10.00 for adults.

I've been exhausted, but I remembered that it was Wacky Wednesday and I just had to post! Today's Wacky Wednesday has to deal with world's largest wacky landmarks. (woo, that's a mouthful) Our first landmark is...

THE WORLD'S LARGEST GUMMY BEAR.

The World's Largest Gummy Bear is the lion of the candy world. There is no candy more magnificent or more powerful. This five-pound beast is the equivalent of 1,400 regular sized gummy bears and packs a whopping 12,600 calories. Its monstrous size is only matched by its enormous taste. The World's Largest Gummy Bear tastes just as delicious as its pint-sized counterpart. Available in many flavors: blue raspberry, red cherry, green apple, orange, pineapple, and astro (a combination of red cherry, lemon, and green apple).

Next, we have... THE WORLD'S LARGEST ROCKING CHAIR. (P.S. sorry for the color malfunction...)

At 42-ft. 4-in. tall, this new Chair eclipses by almost 20 feet the former rocking chair champion in Lipan Texas. It stands 15 feet taller than America's largest chair in Anniston, Alabama, although Anniston's chair is still "larger" in the sense that it's more massive.

And the.. WORLD'S LARGEST DIAMOND.

On January 25, 1905, at the Premier Mine in Pretoria, South Africa, a 3,106-carat diamond is discovered during a routine inspection by the mine's superintendent. Weighing 1.33 pounds, and christened the "Cullinan," it was the largest diamond ever found.

Along with the..WORLD'S LARGEST FLOWER.

The flower with the world's largest bloom is the Rafflesia arnoldii. This rare flower is found in the rainforests of Indonesia. It can grow to be 3 feet across and weigh up to 15 pounds! It is a parasitic plant, with no visible leaves, roots, or stem. It attaches itself to a host plant to obtain water and nutrients. When in bloom, the Rafflesia emits a repulsive odor, similar to that of rotting meat. This odor attracts insects that pollinate the plant.

Finally, we've got the... WORLD'S BIGGEST JELLYFISH.

Oh my gosh. This is insane, and it creeps me out. The Lions Mane Jellyfish is the largest jellyfish in the world. They have been swimming in arctic waters since before the dinosaurs (over 650 million years ago) and are among some of the oldest surviving species in the world. The largest can come in at about 6 meters and has tentacles over 50 meters long. Pretty amazing when you think these things have been swimming around for so long. They have hundreds of poisonous tentacles that it used to catch passing by fish. it then slowly drags in it’s prey and eats it.

Some of these are just freaky!! Oh, and to wrap this up, come see Little Shop of Horrors!! It will BLOW YOU AWAY!! Just Trust Me!

Wacky Wednesdays.

NEW SERIES! I've decided to do a blog post every Wednesday about something bizarre that happened in the news this week. Today, I read this story about these weird vending machines. Here's the weirdest ones..

-Yes, it's true: You really can buy live hairy crabs out of a vending machine in Nanjing, China. The machine keeps the local delicacies at 41 degrees Fahrenheit -- cool enough to make the crabs sleepy without killing them. If you do purchase a dead crab, though, don't worry: The company behind the vending machine will compensate you with three live ones. The crabs cost between $1.50 and $7.50 depending on size and gender.

When hasn't this happened to you? You're running down the street, late for a meeting. You think to yourself, "Sheesh, I could reach my destination so much faster if I had a bike." Problem solved! The folks in the Netherlands who invented the "Bikedispenser" vending machine call it the "perfect bike solution" for anyone on the move.

Japan is a magical land of vending machines. The devices are everywhere, and they sell just about anything -- including these chilled bananas, wrapped in plastic and sold at Tokyo train station by Dole Japan Ltd. Price: About $1.50 a banana.

So there you are, at a gym or a night club with unwieldy hair. What to do? Just slip $2 into this Beautiful Vending Styler machine and bingo: A hair straightener heats up for your personal use for two whole minutes. Need more hair-straightening time? Then pay $5 for five minutes.

Check back every Wednesday for a CRAZY news story! I thought these were pretty funny!
Anyways... Just Trust Me!
