Meet Elizabeth Lavenza!

Hey hey hey! Recently, drama auditions were held for our school's production of 'Frankenstein'. You know me, I simply had to try out.. (: I really do love this play. It's very serious, and it'll produce some really great acting! I tried out for the part of Elizabeth. She's kind of like the love interest in the play because she's engaged to Victor Frankenstein, the scientist who creates the monster. (In the play the monster's name isn't Frankenstein, he's just called The Creature. Frankenstein is the scientist.) She's a really fun character! Anyways, I tried out on Wednesday and the cast list went up on Friday after school. Believe it or not, I got Elizabeth! I was so excited. I've wanted to do this for a really long time! But wait, the excitement doesn't stop there! My best friends, Michelle and Shea, got the parts they wanted too! Shea is playing a girl named Justine, and Michelle is playing Frau Mueller. Those are the only girl parts, just the three of us! We are just so happy to be involved with the play! Everyone put out great auditions, and I applaud our drama class. They were amazing. I encourage you to come see it! I'll post specific dates later on. I thought I should keep everyone in the know with my life. Have a wonderful day!

Self Improvement

Hey hey hey blog peoples! How is everything going for you all?? I've been tremendously busy, as always. But it's a good kind of busy, don't get me wrong! As you've probably noticed, the title of this post is "Self Improvement". That's exactly what I want this post to be! Basically, a somewhat censored view of my thoughts and mind for the time being. (: Sounds delightful.

Everyone has flaws. Things that we struggle with or have to work at in order to be the person we want to be. Here's the thing.. I don't consider flaws necessarily bad. Yes, the flaws themselves are bad things but I don't think you should beat yourself up for having flaws, that's simply preposterous. (: Personally, I think our mistakes and flaws are part of what makes everyone who we are. Not flaws alone, I think the positive things about people make up the other part. So, if you're a math person, it would be... flaws+positives=AMAZING HUMAN BEING. Hehe. I don't think anyone should be ashamed of their weaknesses, or be ashamed of admitting them. We just have to work on them to make things better!

One of my glitches is pride. By pride, I mean accepting that I'm wrong or someone else is more right.. haha. I really have to work on it, and I think I've gotten much better recently. I think I struggle with this because I absolutely hate when I apologize to someone and they agree with me. Like I'll say, "I'm really sorry for what happened earlier. I really shouldn't have done that and I won't do it again." or whatever. They'll respond with "Yeah I know, you really were a jerk." Whaaaat?! No. If I apologize for something I don't need you to agree with me on how awful I was, because I've already recognized my wrongdoing. Another reason I have pride problems is being afraid of them bringing it up over and over again in the future. If I apologize I don't want it brought up all the time, I'd get embarrassed. Even though I don't want these things to happen, I have to get over it and overcome my pride. It's simply the way things have to be!

I hope you enjoyed my self improvement post! I'll try to keep these going, they feel great. Keep checking back at Just Trust Me..! I loved having you!

A View of Myself Through Famous Authors

Hi precious readers of mine! How are you all? I hope you're doing well, really I do. Something has happened recently that just makes me happy. FOOTBALL HAS ARRIVED. It's back! Let's all scream and jump for joy! I love football. I grew up in a household where you either love football or hate your life for 4 and a half months. I chose to LOVE it. In case you don't know, I'm a Sooner Fan. My parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles all went to OU; I have Sooner Magic in my bloodstream. I'm certainly a happy camper since they're back on my TV screen.

Besides that happening, I've still been doing all my school stuff. Recently, I got assigned an English Project and I decided to share it with you! No worries, it's actually a pretty cool assignment. The directions were to find 7 quotes from famous authors that describe your ideas and philosophies. They must be published. Sounds fun right?! I thought so! I loved my quotes so much that I decided they were fit to be put into a blog post. DADUM, a blog post was born. I made a presentation dealy, but I can't necessarily put it on here. I sincerely apologize. Instead, I'll show you my quotes!

"Those who do not know the precious things in life will never be happy." -Alex Flinn. This one's pretty self explanatory... yeah. (:

"But if you wanted something in life you had to go out and grab it, no matter what stood in your way." -Joanna Philibin. Whether it's going to college, Broadway, Harvard, or Paris, you have to own it! Do it, and do it all the way.

"I guess that's the point of it all. No one knows for certain how much impact we have on the lives of others. Oftentimes, we have no clue. Yet we push it just the same." -Jay Asher. If you haven't read 'Thirteen Reasons Why' by Jay Asher, please do. It is simply mind altering, at least it was to me. But this quote is one of my favorites! Everyone does have a significant impact on others. I really want to be a positive influence to anyone and everyone I see. You never know how far a little kindness can go!

"You gone have to ask yourself, 'Am I gone believe what them fools say 'bout me today?'" -Kathryn Stockett. This quote is from The Help, which is also a fantastic book and movie! I cried, but it's amazing. You really do have to ask yourself this. People are going to say things that aren't true, but it's your choice to believe it.

"The Truth. It is a beautiful and terrible thing, which is why it must be treated with great caution." -J.K. Rowling. What an interesting quote.. although very true...

"If you retain nothing else, always remember the most important rule of beauty which is: Who cares?" -Tina Fey. HAHAHA story of my life. Who cares if someone doesn't like my top. I do. Which really is all who matters. Bam.

"Have you ever heard somebody sing some lyrics that you've never sung before, and you realize you've never sung the right words in that song? You hear them and all of a sudden you say to yourself, 'Life in the Fast Lane? That's what they're saying right there? Why have I been singing 'wipe in the vaseline?' how many people have heard me sing 'wipe in the vaseline?' I am an idiot." -Ellen Degeneres. Once again... STORY OF MY LIFE. This simply says it all. Thank you Ellen.

"Until you know them and not just their 'type', you have no right to shun them. You have not looked for their beauty, their good. You have not seen the light in their eyes. Look hard enough and you will always find a light. You can even help it grow." -Rachel Scott. She was the first girl killed in the Columbine Shooting, and she wrote this in her journal. I strive to live by this quote everyday. It simply inspires me.

Well,  I hope you enjoyed my little (HUGE) project! These quotes really do explain me. I love 'em! Hope you have a wonderful Labor Day tomorrow!

7 Study Tips Just for You!!

This week has been absolutely insane. I feel sooo overwhelmed it's simply ridiculous. It's always an adjustment going back to school, so hopefully I will be able to manage my time better in the near future. I MUST have time to blog. It can't be overlooked. So, do not fear! I will keep posting, even if my last post was 6 days ago..

Since my life has been completely consumed by school, I decided to do a post about, you guessed it, STUDYING! I'm sure that you have no desire to continue to read this after that word, but it won't be as bad as you think it'll be. I have to adjust to studying and homework, so why not to kick start your adjustment too? Here we gooo!

1. Write It Down. Schedule your study time in a planner of some sort. This is your game plan. Seeing it on paper just helps you not be so scatter brained the night before everything is due. Also, stick to your game plan! There's no use in making one if you don't take it seriously and do your studying. (:

2. Get the Right Tools. Before you start on your work, make sure you have everything you need close by. Things like a laptop, books, calculators, pencils, and notes are really nice to have out and ready to go for easy access. In the end, this will save you some time.

3. Break it Down. Take long-range assignments and break them down into smaller, manageable 'chunks'. This will make your homework seem less overwhelming. Stay organized to be sure you get each chunk finished in time!

4. Prioritize. This helps me so much. Put your assignments in order; try doing the toughest assignment first and the easiest ones last. Once you finish the more difficult assignment you will feel so relieved! If you do the harder one last you aren't going to want to keep going cause it keeps haunting your mind. AH. Try it, I think it helps!

5. Ask Questions. Before you start an assignment, make sure you understand exactly what you need to do. Ask all important questions before you start! If you don't understand you will become very frustrated trying to do it on your own. It's definitely happened to me before! Don't be afraid to ask your teachers either, it helps.

6. Do One Thing at a Time. Focus on one assignment only! Jumping from one subject to another can be confusing and distracting. It'll keep you a lot more organized too.

7. TAKE BREAKS! Don't burn yourself out by waiting last minute to study. Add a few breaks into your study time. Food, sleep and exercise are always good.. (: You deserve breaks, so take them!

Hope these help you get back in the groove! Have a lovely week at school or work or.. wherever you are.
